Thank you for the analysis. The issues are very concerning and need clear, independent heads to ensure trust in the outcomes.

As concerning as this is, and hey can we be fair here, that so many other breaches happen in other parties too, but they get buried by the dominant forces in culture and society. We seem to lurch from a potential juicy coalition government one, and its a quick lurch away....like the Taranaki guy.......what happened to all his shite? We lurch to something else juicy, to confirm prejudices and take the heat off. Sorry Bryce, I think you are awesome.......but I sense a bit of pleasure here in this one, like a dog finding a fav bone it had forgotten about. Yeah, Maori bashing is a thang! And there's traction for all the redneck types who will think, told ya so, kick em out, de-register them etc etc et al.

I find all that kinda sad. Yup of course there is a Maori elite who look after themselves, money and power corrupts..........we could all be there. The reasons things are done, maybe more cunning than evil and self serving.......... I do wish Peeni Henare had gotten in.

How long have maori not been getting any traction since Te Tiriti, try to get justice in a white world, with white law and white kaupapa. AND now we have this very very serious and very very juicy bone...........another opposition party scandal like the Greens. I smell rats, and I don't think they are where people are saying they are. Give us a decent ACt, NZ 1st or Nat scandal........dunno who the scandal digger is...........I have gut feelings but won't say. He don't wear a robe and comes across squeaky clean.............but serious, it's not follow the money anymore, it's follow the scandal.............lets make it look like we are okay.

It will back fire..................if other politicians can do what they do and be teflon.......why would we think this will stick...................maybe coloured skin helps stick. This is like a smokescreen for other shite, or beat up the lefty or the 1st nation people. Please don't enjoy it Bryce, I like you too much, and have felt you were pretty fair across the board.......but I sense something different, like kicking someone when they are down.................oh yeah, its allowed, Maori have no special status, and writing says they have enjoyed a special kinda protection from stuff like this..........................all the Act and NZ 1st peeps will ....oh and Brash and Co, Batchelor et al...........they will be in the louge watching the news yelling yeeesss! and fist pumping and high fiving. This is what they want. Not me.........maybe I am a minority too. And I hope the Democracy Project isn't a front like some other organisations who use that word, or Freedom.....and they have an agenda deep down.

The bright torchlight being shone at the moment in the direction of Te Pati Maori and John Tamihere over allegations of political corruption are disturbing. First because if true then redress needs to occur. Second because in the public domain there is already clear evidence of a member of the National Party having behaved in extremely suspicious circumstances regarding funding and his subsequent election, and yet the world doesn't seem to have fallen apart, democracy is not teetering on the edge of oblivion is it? Of those named in your korero calling vociferously for inquiries, very few represent credible non partisan reporters of news and current affairs and almost all would have an axe to grind over a party that has not been shy in calling out the hypocrisy of a system of Eurocentric government that has systematically denied Maori a fair seat at the table of governance. One cannot but conclude that being a member of a certain demographic, ethnicy, or sex demands a higher degree of honesty, integrity, openness that is required other groups within the political circus that is New Zealand. There are so many stinking carcasses of inappropriate behavior, actions and broken promises within the current government, yet Te Pati Maori, who have virtually no power or influence whatsoever in current political discourse, are being hounded from pillar to post.

"Te Pati Maori......are being hounded from pillar to post."

The electoral commission certainly look to have gone out of their way to treat TMP with kid gloves. Perhaps a bit more holding to account earlier on and they wouldn't have got the idea they can do whatever the hell they like.

Mind you, the strutting psychopaths involved are likely beyond redemption so probably just as well. We can all now see what we're dealing with.

"systematically denied Maori a fair seat at the table of governance"

Sir this is 2024. You could make this claim in the 20th century. But it really looks silly in the modern day from even a cursory look at the stats.
