Who is this fellow Gwynn Compton? Has he a right-wing agenda toward breaking up local government and supporting this misguided current minister of Local Government?

Thanks Bryce, as always. I am wondering if there is any merit or any interest from The Democracy Project........(I hate that name I gotta say) in The Nelson Tenths developments. Maori have been gracious for over 100 years, then stuck to by this coalition government. Finally some justice perhaps.

As to the name (which I know you are thinking about such things) and my aversion to it. Many organisations or projects with words like Democracy, or Freedom in their titles end up being pukesville for me, and usually the recepticles and fomentors of ultra right, narrow or conservative views that maintain and endorse the status quo. I am weary of the word 'democracy' now. Tho different words, The New Zeland Centre For Political Research would be an example. The title seems all well and good and there is an undercurrent of political leaning within, that for me is pukesville.

Anyways, The Nelson Tenths thing is worthy of inclusion I believe.
